Ravenhill 1sts drew 2-2 with Ballygowan 1sts in a hard fought match at Henry Jones. Ballygowan took the lead early on but it wasn't long before Deegsy's corner found it's way in to the net after some dodgy handling by the keeper. Ballygowan restored their lead in the second half before Ravenhill were awarded a penalty. Scatesy tucked it away to even things up with about 10 minutes remaining.

Ravenhill 2nds won their pre-season friendly tonight against Moat Park Rangers 2nds in a game that was full of incident. Ravenhill controlled the first 55 minutes and gained an impressive 5-0 lead following goals from Colm, Wayne, Ian, Titt and Chris Burns.

With the help of some dodgy reffing and defending, Ravenhill imploded for the next half hour as Moat Park done well to fight their way back to 5-4. As Moat Park continued their wave after wave of attack, it was Ravenhill who surprisingly managed to nick the next goal courtesy of a close range finish from Chris 'Gray' McCluskey. The game ended on somewhat of a sour note when Ravenhill were awarded a controversial stoppage time penalty which Jonny McIntyre converted to make the final score 7-4.

Ravenhill 1sts defeated Queens Grads 3rds 6-1 in a league game at the Dub. After going 1-0 down early on, a great performance followed which saw off the opposition in style. The goals (I think) came from Geordie, Mel, Scatesy (2), Paul Catherwood and substitute Titt.

Ravenhill 2nds were 5-0 winners at Hydebank in their pre-season friendly against 82nd 2nds. The opening goal came from Davy Catherwood's daisy cutter which crept in the bottom corner as the 82nd's players claimed for offside. Scotty doubled the lead later in the first half with a good finish from the left after some nice build up play. The second half saw a close range finish from Grey and a double for sub Stuarty Magowan. His first was a header from Wayne's free-kick and the second was a sliced shot(!) after a cross from the right hand side.

The 2nds have another pre-season friendly next Thursday night against Moat Park Rangers 2nds at Billy Neill.

Ravenhill 1sts defeated Holywood 3rds 4-0 tonight in a league game away at Seapark. Paul Scates grabbed 2 goals while substitutes Titt and Stuarty Fitz got a goal each to kill off the game.

Ravenhill 2nds are due to play on Wednesday night in a pre-season friendly against the 82nd 2nds at Hydebank. Weather permitting!

The 1st team kicked off their league campaign yesterday at Henry Jones playing fields against Bryansburn Rangers 3rds. The conditions were truly awful for the game... because they had Paul Catherwood in the starting line up. The weather didn't help either and the game had to be called off during the second half with the game level at 1-1.

Geordie had put the side 1-0 up early on after a goal mouth scramble but Bryansburn found their equaliser before half time. The 1sts next match is on Tuesday night against Holywood 3rds - providing Seapark isn't under as much water as the Broadway underpass.

Ravenhill 2nds match with Comber Young Men was called off last week, again, due to completely rubbish weather. The 2nds next fixture is on Wednesday night as they take on the 82nd's second string at Hydebank.

Yesterday's game between Ravenhill 1sts and Crewe United had to be called off due to a bent pitch. The Ravenhill 1sts league campaign kicks off next week against Bryansburn Rangers 3rds. The next games are against Holywood FC 3rds and Queen's Grads 3rds. All three of these games are away from home. Blimey!

Ravenhill 2nds are playing a pre-season friendly on 12 August in Newtownards against Comber Young Men.

Sorry for the lack of updates. There have been a few pre-season friendlies recently:

On 29 July at the Billy Neill pitches Ravenhill 1sts defeated Comber Star 1sts 4-2 with goals from Paul Catherwood, Scatesy, Stuarty Fitzsimmons and the returning Roland.

The following night a Ravenhill team made up of 2nds and 3rds players defeated Comber Star 2nds 6-2. The goals came from Chris Burns, Nathan McVeigh, Titt and new boys Gavin, Grey and young Scotty.

The 5th of August saw Ravenhill 1sts play Vision 1sts at Billy Neill while Ravenhill 2nds/3rds played Vision's second string at Victoria Park. The game between the 1st teams ended 1-1 with Dee 'Astra' Carnaghan scoring a wonder goal.

Meanwhile, Ravenhill 2nds/3rds won 7-0 with goals from Ian Megahey, Titt, Davy Catherwood, Wayne Moore and new boys Darren and Dary. There was an own goal as well which Lewis is trying to claim but he can keep dreaming.

Finally, Ravenhill 2nds/3rds played Bryansburn 4ths at Billy Neill on 7 August in a game which ended 5-2 to RYM. The goals came from Lewis Cairns (we'll give him that one), Chris Burns, Grey and Titt (2).

Each club's first XI plays in either the Premier Division or Division 1 whilst a club's second XI plays in either division 2A or 2B. It is presumed that Ravenhill 1sts will play in Division 1 while Ravenhill 2nds will play in Division 2B.
