Well done on Saturday for Agape II, who had to come from behind to beat Comber YM II. Despite going ahead through Paul Catherwood's cross come shot, Comber rallied and went ahead with 2 quick goals at the start of the 2nd half. But eventually we got our fingers out and turned it around.
The introduction of Dee and Titt changed the game, and with Ken popping up with 2 well taken goals it was a valuable 3 points for us. That puts us at the top of the league 1 point ahead of Greenwell Star (who have 2 games in hand on us).
The season so far has been slighlty disappointing for Agape II, considering how well they performed last season. So far it seems to be down to missed chances.
Against Rosemount, Agape II conceded some soft goals which is very unlike us as the defence was pretty solid last year but we had the chances at the other end as well, but just couldn't take them.
Against Vision we thought we had turned a bit of a corner. For the whole game we were on top, playing some great football like the passage of play leading to Jonathan Grainger's goal. Even though we scored 6 we could have had a lot more.
Against Greenwell Star we went 1-0 up and looked comfortable. Then a penalty decision that we still can't believe changed the game, it was converted and after that it went downhill. We had 2 perfectly good goals ruled out for offside, but we can't just blame the referee for losing.
Against Queens Graduates we played some great stuff again but just couldn't seem to put the ball in the net, we dominated for the majority of the game but alas it wasn't to be. If any comfort was taken from it, it was a clean sheet - but our keeper didn't have a save to make in 80 odd minutes of football!
This is just a blip, we have been playing well but not getting our reward. So let's keep at it and show this league what we can do!
